About the Future Scientists Center
The Maimonides Fund’s Center for the Advancement of the Gifted and Talented was established with the aim to provide gifted and talented students significant opportunities to maximize their unique potential, through participation in high quality and cutting edge programs in an array of scientific fields. The Center is creating a community of alumni specializing in various disciplines; influential pioneers who will become the elite of Israeli society and contribute to tackling the major challenges faced by Israel and the world.
The Center partners with academic institutions throughout Israel, to provide specialized programs for gifted and talented high school students. The programs offer study and research in an academic environment, meeting and working together with leading researchers and academics in their fields, gaining exposure to the rich world of scientific knowledge, and participating in a variety of social activities.
The extensive investment in these programs is intended to create an infrastructure for academic and research excellence, as well as develop a community of groundbreaking young people who will be tomorrow's leaders in a range of spheres.
The Future Scientists’ Center operates the following programs:
Alpha – Research program in the sciences
Odyssey – Academic studies program in the sciences
Idea – Research program in the humanities
Ascola – Alumni network
The programs operate as joint initiatives with the Ministry of Education’s Department for Gifted and Talented Students and the National Cyber Bureau within the Prime Minister’s Office.
