Tel Aviv University for Youth
Tel Aviv University for Youth is proud to offer the Idea Program for the fourth consecutive year - a unique and innovative research program that focuses on the humanities and social sciences and is geared towards talented and gifted high school students. The Program enables its participants to join the forefront of academic research in these fields. The Program was formulated in order to meet the unique needs of talented and gifted students by enriching their minds with humanities and social sciences subjects, exposing them to high-level academic research in these subjects and enabling them to acquire the skills they need to formulate independent research and execute academic-level research projects.
About the Program
The Idea Program curriculum is a unique mix of individual tutoring and group mentoring. Each group is assigned a coordinator/mentor, who meets with the students within the frameworks of a group workshop. In the workshop, students will learn about the stages of academic research, and the considerations pertaining to each of these stages. The workshop is dedicated to the learning of the critical approaches to analyzing and understanding various issues pertaining to the humanities, such as economics, sociology, history, archaeology, philosophy, political science, international relations, literature, and more. In addition, the students will meet with professional advisors - experts in their fields of research. The combined tutelage of a group mentor and a private tutor provides students with the tools they need to execute entire research projects.
The Program is comprised of the following stages:
- A first summer camp following the 9th grade - a stage in the admissions process
- The first year of research, during the 10th grade
- The second year of research, during the 11th grade
