ירום אריאב
יו"ר מרכז מדעני העתיד
ירום אריאב כיהן 3 שנים כמנכ"ל משרד האוצר בשנים 2007 עד 2010. במסגרת תפקידו היה ממובילי הכלכלה הישראלית בתקופת המשבר הכלכלי העולמי, והיה אחראי להתוויה ויישום המדיניות הכלכלית של הממשלה לפני ובמהלך המשבר. מר אריאב עמד בראש צוות ההיגוי לצירוף ישראל לארגון ה-OECD, והיה דמות מרכזית ביישום רפורמות בולטות בתחומי הכלכלה והחברה.
לפני עבודתו בממשלה כיהן ירום אריאב כמנכ"ל חברת כי"ל דשנים אירופה (ICL), במסגרת זאת מיזג וניהל את כל פעילויות הייצור והשיווק של הקונצרן באירופה. בשנים 1985 עד 1993 שירת אריאב באגף התקציבים במשרד האוצר, בתפקידו זה היה שותף מרכזי לקביעת מדיניות הממשלה בעידוד המחקר והפיתוח ובהקמת חברת "יוזמה" שפרצה דרך להייטק הישראלי, להובלת רפורמות בתחומי החשיפה לייבוא, האנרגיה, החקלאות ועוד.
מאז סיום תפקידו באוצר עוסק מר אריאב בייזום ומעורבות בפרויקטים שונים לתועלת המשק והחברה ובייעוץ אסטרטגי, פיננסי וכלכלי לגופים שונים במגזר הציבורי והפרטי. כיום מר אריאב הוא יו"ר ועדת ההשקעות של קרנות הפנסיה של הסוכנות היהודית, חבר דירקטוריון בקרן ואן ליר העולמית, יו"ר ועדת ההשקעות וחבר מועצה של הקרן לאזרחי ישראל, יו"ר הקרן לפיתוח לוד, חבר הועד המנהל של עמותת לתת ושל עמותת קשת ויו"ר מרכז מדעני העתיד. למר אריאב תואר שני בכלכלה בהצטיינות מהאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים.
Dr. Shimshon Shoshani
Founder of the Future Scientists Center
Dr. Shimshon Shoshani is one of Israel's most prominent educators and has been among those shaping its path over the last few decades. Throughout his life, Dr. Shoshani has viewed the values of equality and excellence as complementary rather than conflicting concepts, toward ensuring the realization of each student’s full potential and capability. Dr. Shoshani chose to act toward reducing the education system’s acute shortage through programs aimed at providing gifted, outstanding students in secondary education with opportunities to reach their full potential. In 2014, Dr. Shoshani established the Maimonides Fund’s Future Scientists Center for the advancement of gifted, outstanding students as a way of promoting excellence and training young people to be at the forefront of Israel's developments in the fields of scientific research, technology, economics, and security. Dr. Shoshani's rare ability to lead inspiring initiatives and systemic change has influenced hundreds of thousands of young people in Israel and the Diaspora.
Dr. Shoshani has served three tenures as Director-General of the Ministry of Education; he also served as Director-General of the Jewish Agency, and as Deputy Chairman of the Council for Higher Education. He founded and managed the Birthright Israel project, and served as a volunteer chairman and board member on dozens of public bodies with educational ties, including Chairman of the Center for Educational Technology, Chairman of the Board of Yad Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, Chairman of UNESCO Israel, and more.
Dr. Shoshani was born in Israel in 1937. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA (1972-1975), an M.A. in Education from Tel Aviv University (1967-1969), and a B.A. in Literature and Bible from Bar-Ilan University (1960-1964).
ד"ר שמשון שושני
מייסד מרכז מדעני העתיד
ד"ר שמשון שושני הוא מאנשי החינוך המובהקים בישראל ונמנה עם מעצבי דרכה בעשרות השנים האחרונות. כל חייו רואה ד"ר שושני לנגד עיניו את ערכי השוויון והמצוינות כמושגים משלימים ולא מתנגשים, והכל כדי להבטיח את מימוש מלוא הפוטנציאל והיכולת של כל תלמיד ותלמידה. עם הזמן החליט ד"ר שושני לפעול לצמצום החוסר האקוטי במערכת החינוך, על ידי תוכניות שמטרתן להעניק לתלמידות ותלמידים מחוננים ומצטיינים בחינוך העל יסודי הזדמנויות למצות את הפוטנציאל שלהם. בשנת 2014 הקים ד"ר שושני את מרכז מדעני העתיד לקידום מחוננים ומצטיינים של קרן מיימונידיס, כדי להניף את דגל המצוינות ולהכשיר בני נוער להיות ראש החץ של מדינת ישראל בתחומי המחקר המדעי, הטכנולוגיה, הכלכלה והביטחון. יכולתו הנדירה של ד"ר שושני להוביל מהלכים מעוררי השראה ושינויים מערכתיים השפיעה על מאות אלפי צעירים בישראל ובתפוצות.
ד"ר שושני כיהן כמנכ"ל משרד החינוך שלוש פעמים לאורך חיו, כמנכ"ל הסוכנות היהודית, סגן יושב ראש המועצה להשכלה גבוהה, הקים וניהל את פרויקט תגלית וכיהן כיושב ראש וחבר הנהלה בהתנדבות בעשרות גופים ציבוריים בעלי זיקה חינוכית, בין היתר כיו"ר המרכז לטכנולוגיה חינוכית, יו"ר דירקטוריון "יד יצחק בן צבי", יו"ר "החברה להגנת הטבע", יו"ר "אונסקו ישראל" ועוד.
ד"ר שושני נולד בישראל ב-1937, הוא בעל תואר PH.D במינהל חינוכי מאוניברסיטת ניו יורק, באפלו, ארה"ב (1975-1972), תואר M.A בחינוך מאוניברסיטת תל אביב (1967-1969) ו-B.A בספרות ותנ"ך מאוניברסיטת בר-אילן (1960-1964).
Yarom Ariav
Chairman of the Future Scientists Center
Yarom Ariav served for three years from 2007 to 2010 as Director General of the Ministry of Finance. In this capacity, he was one of the leaders of the Israeli economy during the global financial crisis and was responsible for outlining and implementing the government's economic policy before and during the crisis. Mr. Ariav headed the steering committee for Israel's accession to the OECD and was a central figure in implementing prominent economic and social reforms.
Prior to his government work, Yarom Ariav served as CEO of ICL Fertilizers Europe, where he merged and managed the concern's production and marketing activities in Europe. From 1985 to 1993, Ariav served in the Ministry of Finance’s Budget Department, where he was a key partner in determining government policy encouraging research and development; and establishing “Yozma,” a company which paved the way for Israeli high-tech. Mr. Ariav also led reforms in the areas of import exposure, energy, agriculture, and more.
Since completing his role at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Ariav has been involved in initiating and participating in various projects of benefit to the economy and society, and in providing strategic, financial, and economic consulting to various entities in the public and private sectors. Currently Mr. Ariav chairs the Jewish Agency's pension funds Investment Committee, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Van Leer Group Foundation, both a council member of the Citizens of Israel Fund and its Investment Committee chairperson, Chair of the Lod Development Fund, a member of both the Latet organization’s Executive Committee and the Keshet organization, and Chair of the Center for Future Scientists. Mr. Ariav holds a master's degree in Economics with honors from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
