נבחרות ישראל במדעים
מדינת ישראל גאה לשלוח בכל שנה חמש נבחרות של בנות ובני נוער לאולימפיאדות הבינלאומיות במדעים – ביולוגיה, כימיה, מדעי מחשב, מתמטיקה ופיזיקה. האולימפיאדות הבינלאומיות במדעים לבנות ובני נוער (IO’s) מתקיימות בחסות ארגון אונסק"ו, ומטרתן עידוד לעיסוק מעמיק ומצוינות בתחומי המדע.
הפעילות בנבחרות מזמנת חשיפה לאתגרים ברמה בינלאומית בתחומי המדעים, הקניית כישורי חשיבה ופתרון בעיות מורכבות ברמה גבוהה. ההשתתפות מאפשרת לתלמידות ולתלמידים לפתח מוטיבציה ללימודי מדע, יכולת למידה עצמית ועמידה באתגר בתנאי לחץ משמעותיים. לבסוף, תורמת הפעילות בנבחרות גם לפיתוח היכולות והביטחון העצמי של התלמידות והתלמידים, ומאפשרת להם להיות חלק מקבוצה הפועלת יחד להגיע להישגים הטובים ביותר.
האולימפיאדות מאפשרות מפגש משמעותי וחשוב בין תלמידות ותלמידים מכל רחבי העולם, בעלי כישרון יוצא דופן בתחום תוכן מסוים המתחרים ביניהם בהנאה. מדליות זהב, כסף וארד מוענקות לתלמידות ולתלמידים בהתאם לביצועיהם בתחרות, ושקלול התוצאות מהווה את דירוג מדינת ישראל בקרב המדינות המתחרות.

Israel Science Olympiad Teams
The State of Israel is proud of sending five teams of teenagers annually to the International Science Olympiads: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics. The International Science Olympiads for teenagers (IOs), held under the auspices of UNESCO, aim to encourage in-depth engagement and excellence in the fields of science. Participation in the teams provides exposure to international-level challenges in the sciences, and the acquisition of high-level thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
Participation allows students to develop motivation toward scientific studies, self-learning capabilities, and the capacity to meet challenges under significant pressure. Activity in the teams significantly contributes to the development of the students' abilities and self-confidence, allowing them to be part of a group working together to achieve optimal results.
The Olympiads promote meaningful, valuable interactions between students from all over the world who possess exceptional talent in a specific content area and compete with each other with enjoyment. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to students according to their performance in the competition. Weighted results represent Israel's ranking among competing countries.

The selection process for the upcoming cohorts of the Israeli science teams will begin in February 2026.
הנבחרת הצעירה
נבחרת ישראל הצעירה במדעים היא העתודה לנבחרות ישראל הבוגרות, המייצגות את מדינת ישראל באולימפיאדות הבינלאומיות בתחומים ביולוגיה, כימיה, מדעי המחשב, מתמטיקה ופיזיקה. בנבחרת הצעירה מכשירים תלמידות ותלמידים להשתתפות בנבחרות הבוגרות, בדגש על פיתוח החשיבה, מישחוק ולמידה ברמה אקדמית גבוהה. המיונים לנבחרת הצעירה נערכים בסוף כיתה ז' והפעילות בה מתקיימת בכיתות ח'-ט'.

The Youth Team
The Israel Young Science Team is the reserve for the senior Israeli national teams which represent Israel in international Olympiads in biology, chemistry, computer sciences, mathematics, and physics. The young team trains students for participation in the senior teams, with emphasis on developing thinking skills, gamification, and learning at a high academic level. Selections for the young team are held at the end of seventh grade, and its activities take place during eighth and ninth grades. The activities of the Young Science Team take place at Tel Aviv University, led by Tel Aviv University for Youth.

נבחרת ישראל במדעי המחשב
האולימפיאדה במדעי המחשב היא תחרות אלגוריתמים ותכנות לבני נוער. על חברי הנבחרת להפגין חשיבה מתמטית יצירתית ולפתור בעיות מאתגרות. מטרת האולימפיאדה היא לעודד עניין ואתגר במדעי המחשב, ולכנס ביחד את טובי הכישרונות הצעירים מכל העולם להתנסות מדעית ולחוויה תרבותית.
פעילות נבחרת ישראל במדעי המחשב מתקיימת באוניברסיטת בר-אילן.
נבחרת ישראל בכימיה
האולימפיאדה בכימיה היא תחרות לבני נוער המתמקדת במגוון נושאים מעולם הכימיה. האולימפיאדה מכנסת בכל שנה את מיטב הכימאים הצעירים מכל העולם לפעילות חברתית-תרבותית מעשירה המעודדת קשרי חברות ועבודה בין המדענים לעתיד מכל העולם. הפעילות בנבחרת מאפשרת הבנת כימיה ברמה גבוהה ביותר, יכולת לקשר בין תחומי הכימיה השונים ובין חיי היום יום הסובבים אותנו, חשיבה יצירתית ויכולת ביצוע במעבדה ברמה גבוהה.
פעילות נבחרת ישראל בכימיה מתקיימת בפקולטה לכימיה במכון הטכנולוגי לישראל - הטכניון.
נבחרת ישראל בפיזיקה
האולימפיאדה בפיזיקה היא תחרות בינלאומית בפיזיקה לתלמידי תיכון. בכל שנה, מיטב הפיזיקאים הצעירים מכל העולם מתכנסים למפגש אקדמי, חברתי ותרבותי מעשיר. במהלך המפגש בוחן כל תלמיד את יכולותיו ברמה הבינלאומית. הפעילות בנבחרת משלבת בין הפיזיקה התיאורטית והניסויים, מעמיקה את החשיבה וההבנה ומפתחת חשיבה יצירתית.
את אימוני נבחרת ישראל בפיזיקה מוביל מרכז חוסידמן לנוער באוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב.
נבחרת ישראל במתמטיקה
האולימפיאדה למתמטיקה היא תחרות בינלאומית במתמטיקה לתלמידי תיכון. הפעילות בנבחרת מאפשרת להרחיב את עולם הידע המתמטי ולעסוק במתמטיקה מתקדמת ומאתגרת. הפעילות מפתחת יכולת ניתוח בעיות ומציאת פתרון, מעמיקה את החשיבה וההבנה בתחום, וכן מפתחת יצירתיות וחשיבה הפורצת "מחוץ לקופסה".
פעילות נבחרת ישראל במתמטיקה מתקיימת בפקולטה למתמטיקה ומדעי המחשב במכון ויצמן למדע.
נבחרת ישראל בביולוגיה
האולימפיאדה בביולוגיה היא תחרות לבני נוער המתמקדת במגוון נושאים מעולם הביולוגיה. האולימפיאדה מכנסת בכל שנה את מיטב הביולוגיים הצעירים מכל העולם לפעילות חברתית-תרבותית מעשירה המעודדת קשרי חברות ועבודה בין המדענים לעתיד מכל העולם.

Senior National Teams
Israel Computer Sciences Olympiad Team
The Computer Sciences Olympiad is an algorithm and programming competition for teenagers. Team members must demonstrate creative mathematical thinking and solve challenging problems. The Olympiad’s goal is to encourage interest and set challenges in computer science while bringing together the best young talents from around the world for a scientific experience and cultural exchange.
Activities of the Israeli Computer Science team take place at Bar-Ilan University.
Israel Chemistry Olympiad Team
The Chemistry Olympiad is a competition for teenagers focusing on a variety of topics from the world of chemistry. Each year, the Olympiad brings together the best young chemists from all over the world for an enriching socio-cultural activity that encourages friendship and working relations between the scientists of the future. Involvement in the national team promotes an understanding of chemistry at the highest level, the ability to link different fields of chemistry to our daily lives, creative thinking, and the ability to perform in the laboratory at a high level.
The Israel Chemistry Team’s activities take place at the Faculty of Chemistry, the Israel Institute of Technology - the Technion.
Israel Physics Olympiad Team
The Physics Olympiad is an international physics competition for high school students. Every year, the best young physicists worldwide gather for an enriching academic, social, and cultural meeting. During the meeting, each student tests their abilities at an international level. The activity in the team combines theoretical physics and experiments, deepens thinking and understanding, and develops creative thinking.
The Israel Physics Team’s training is led by the Jusidman Center for Science Youth at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Israel Mathematics Olympiad Team
The Mathematics Olympiad is an international mathematics competition for high school students. Training with the team allows students to expand their world of mathematical knowledge and engage in advanced and challenging mathematics. The activity develops the ability to analyze problems and find solutions, enriches thinking and understanding in the field, and also fosters creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
The activities of the Israel Mathematics Team take place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Israel Biology Olympiad Team
The Biology Olympiad is a competition for teenagers that focuses on a variety of topics from the world of biology. Every year, the Olympiad brings together the best young biologists from all over the world for an enriching social-cultural activity that encourages friendships and working relations among future scientists.
The Israel Biology Team’s activities take place at Tel Aviv University, led by Tel Aviv University for Youth.
